Terms of use
Last updated [date]. Draft for review by [Legal name] before launch.
1. Who you are contracting with
Explainer Studio is made by [Legal name]. Purchases are made through Stripe's Managed Payments service, under which Stripe acts as the merchant of record and is the seller for the purposes of your order. Their terms govern the payment itself. These terms govern your use of the software.
2. What a licence gives you
A personal licence is for one named person and may be activated on two machines at a time. A team licence covers up to ten named people, each with two machines. Licences are not transferable between people, though you may move a person's seat to a new machine at any time from your account.
A one-time licence includes twelve months of updates from the day of purchase. Every build released inside that window may be used indefinitely. A subscription licence includes every update while it is running and stops permitting export at the end of the period you last paid for.
3. What you may produce
Videos you make with Explainer Studio are yours. We claim no rights in your briefs, your source material or your finished files, and the software never uploads them.
4. Third-party services
The app uses your own Anthropic and ElevenLabs credentials. Your use of those services is governed by your agreements with them, and they bill you directly. We are not a party to those arrangements.
5. What we do not promise
The software is provided as it is. We do not warrant that a generated video is accurate, fit for a particular purpose or free of defects. Check what the agent wrote before you publish it. [Liability wording to be completed by counsel.]
6. Ending the agreement
You may stop using the software at any time. We may end a licence if it is shared beyond the people it covers, or if a payment is reversed. See the refund policy for withdrawal rights.
7. Governing law
German law applies, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country you live in. [Venue to be completed by counsel.]
